Berman Museum The Sacred Art of Buddhism Logo

The Sacred Art of Buddhism exhibit illustrates the history and art of Buddhism by presenting artifacts from across the Asiatic world. The Berman Museum was sad to see Polished Portraits: The Bronzes of Germaine Berman go, but we were also excited to explore what was to come next! Thanks to our founder Farley L. Berman and our beloved benefactor Dr. Oliver Foo, the Berman Museum has an extensive Buddhist artifact collection. To showcase some of these incredible items, we decided to create The Sacred Art of Buddhism. Over half of the artifacts included in the exhibit have never been on display before! In this exhibit, visitors can see items from across the Asiatic world. Items as old as the Han Dynasty (200 B.C.!) will tell the story of centuries of worship. Learn about Buddhism and who the Buddha really was. Gold and gemstones will attract your eye. These artifacts are truly beautiful hand-crafted sacred items.

The Sacred Art of Buddhism opened to the public on May 10, 2019 and closed October 15, 2019, to make way for The Forgotten War.
